Massachusetts Man Sentenced for Transporting Minor From New Hampshire for Sex

A Massachusetts man has been sentenced to 12.5 years in prison for transporting a child from New Hampshire for sex.

Lawrence Marks, 35, of Tewksbury, pleaded guilty in November to the accusation that he brought the girl over state lines and sexually abused her.

Once he is released from prison, Marks will be supervised by probation officials for five years and be required to register as a sex offender.

Marks' arrest was related to a larger sex trafficking case out of Franklin involving a couple charged with prostituting underage girls.

According to the Concord Monitor, William and Julie Shine were arrested last year after allegedly pimping out a 14-year-old girl for $1,000. They were also charged separately with blackmailing Marks for his truck and $50,000.
