Massachusetts Man to Serve 16 Years for 2012 Slaying on Cape Cod

David Evans was convicted for the murder of Andrew Stanley in Hyannis

The grandmother of a slain Quincy man told a judge that images of her dead grandson still haunt her dreams before one of his killers was sentenced to serve 16 years behind bars for the crime.

The Cape Cod Times reports 31-year-old David Evans will spend 16 years in prison for manslaughter with a 10-year term for armed assault running concurrently for the killing of 27-year-old Andrew Stanley.

Police found Stanley bound, beaten and shot in the back at his Hyannis home in July 2012.

Evans pleaded guilty last week in Barnstable Superior Court to charges of manslaughter, armed assault in a dwelling and carrying a firearm without a license.

Three other men were also charged in the killing. Two were each convicted of murder last month and handed a life-sentence.
