UNC Chancellor Philip L. Dubois shared a photo of Pescaro, his parents Denise and Ed, and Pescaro's girlfriend Erin Wilson, who recently received a visit from Charlotte Hornets President Fred Whitfield.

"We continue to hold him, Emily, Rami and Sean in our thoughts during their ongoing recovery," said DuBois in a statement.

According to the Charlotte Observer, Pescaro also received a visit Sunday from Carolina Panthers wide receiver D.J. Moore. Former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL quarterback Tim Tebow also Facetimed with Pescaro, according to the paper.

The shooting happened just hours before a concert was scheduled to take place on campus. The university has more than 26,500 students and 3,000 faculty and staff.
