Massachusetts State Police are asking for the public's help in finding a man who has been wanted on a child pornography charge since 2015.

Stephen C. Cote, 47, has been wanted on a federal charge for receipt of material involving the sexual exploitation of minors since November 2015 for allegedly possessing child pornography.

He has been on the run since an arrest warrant was issued for him, according to state police. He's previously been convicted of assault and battery in Massachusetts.

He has shaved his head in the past and has been known to have various forms of facial hair, police said. Cote is described as being 5'8", weighs approximately 190 pounds and has blue eyes and brown hair. He also has tattoos on his right forearm and back.

Some Leavenworth County, Kansas, officials are calling for Commissioner Louis Klemp's resignation after he insulted a black woman who had just presented a land-use study to the commission. "I don't want you to think I am picking on you because we are part of the master race. You have a gap in your teeth. We are part of the master race, don't you forget that," Klemp said.

Cote has ties to several Massachusetts communities, including Springfield, Southbridge, Westfield, New Bedford and Fall River. He also has ties to Woodstock, Connecticut, and the Louisiana communities of Broussard and Lafayette.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Massachusetts State Police's violent fugitive apprehension hotline at 1-800-KAPTURE (1-800-527-8873).
