Massachusetts State Police Suspends 3 Assigned to Armory Amid Weapons Investigation

Three people who work at the Massachusetts State Police armory have been suspended without pay during a weapons investigation, the department confirmed Thursday night.

According to spokesperson Dave Procopio, an internal investigation has been launched "reviewing the transfer of a limited number of surplus weapons to a state-authorized vendor."

Additionally, the case has been brought to the attention of Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey.

Details are limited, and the department did not say whether the people involved are uniformed law enforcement officers.

Police said they would not comment further during the investigation.
