Enjoy a few quiet days of weather this weekend, because yet another storm nears early next week.

Mountain and Northern Maine snow will continue Saturday, with accumulation there. Around the rest of New England, temperatures will reach the 30s and 40s under mostly cloudy skies. Winds will be a bit gusty, sustained 10-20 MPH in many areas. That may slow power restoration efforts in some spots.

Sunday is the brighter of the two weekend days, with highs mainly in the 40s. A few spots in Southern New England may even approach 50.

Then all eyes shift back to the coast where another storm will be approaching. That storm’s center likely passes south and east of Nantucket, but that doesn’t mean we escape with no impacts.

A secondary area of energy through the Great Lakes will likely connect with the main storm center, producing periods of snow in New England late Monday into Tuesday. There may be some mixing at the coast.

Exactly how much snow falls will depend on the final track of the storm.

Winds will also be onshore again during that time, renewing the risk of some additional erosion.

Either way we should move back to quieter weather for the middle of next week as temperatures hold mainly in the 30s and 40s.
