Methuen Man Charged With Possession of Child Pornography

A Massachusetts man previously thought to have gone missing has been taken into custody by state police on possession of child pornography.

Methuen police said Michael Meuse, 42, was arrested by state police at about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday at a rest area in Chelmsford where he had used an ATM.

Meuse was taken to Lowell General Hospital for an evaluation.

It's unclear when he will appear in court to face the child pornography charges or if he has an attorney.

Neighbors were bothered to hear of the charges. Meuse works at the Market Basket headquarters in Tewksbury as an operations supervisor.

Last Wednesday, Meuse had disappeared from his Birch Avenue residence in Methuen. Methuen Police had been searching for him but did not immediately disclose why.
