The mother of a 17-year-old girl who was given a powerful painkiller that caused her death at a New Hampshire motel pleaded guilty in federal court Thursday to her role in the case.
Evangelique "Eve" Tarmey died in a Rochester motel of acute fentanyl intoxication in October.
Her mother, Jazzmyn Rood, was there, as were two others who pleaded guilty last month to giving Tarmey the lethal dose. They face sentencing on Oct. 28.
The 41-year-old Rood pleaded guilty to failing to report a felony to authorities. She had pleaded not guilty and faced trial in September, but her lawyer recently filed for a plea hearing.
