Monday a Rare Bright Spot In a String of Rainy Days

With more rain on the way, Monday's dry conditions will offer a break from the showers.

    (Published Sunday, April 28, 2019)

We were greeted by sunshine Sunday morning, but clouds will quickly increase as a system moves in from the Great Lakes and showers will spread over Southern New England this afternoon and evening.

Once this happens, temperatures will drop into the 40s, so it will be a cold rain with rainfall totals under a half an inch.

This disturbance pulls away quickly, so tonight showers will end, and gradual clearing is expected with temperatures dropping into the 30s to near 40 south while 20s around the North Country.

High pressure controls our weather on Monday, giving us a bright and dry day-which may be the only rain-free day this week- so take advantage of it!

Temperatures will remain close to average, in the 50s to near 60.

Rain returns overnight Monday as another area of low pressure approaches the region and the showers stick around for the morning commute on Tuesday.

Our pattern stays unsettled until Friday, with on and off showers, though a washout isn’t expected. We will have several dry slots this week, so we will have to plan accordingly. We close out the month of April with cooler than average temperatures.

As of now, next weekend looks drier with highs in the 60s.
