More than a dozen people were displaced following a 3-alarm fire at a Roxbury multi-family home.

The overnight blaze was first reported at approximately 12:45 a.m. Wednesday at a home on Dewey Street, according to the Boston Fire Department. The fire was so severe, it caused damage to the outside of a nearby home on Blue Hill Avenue.

"It was like a scene out of a movie," one displaced resident said. "I can't even tell you where they initially started. It was just orange and bright and smoke everywhere. It was really crazy."

Most residents were asleep at the time of the fire, and many believe the blaze began on the third floor.

It is unclear where the 16 displaced residents will stay.
