Motorcyclist Killed After Losing Control on Interstate 93 in Boston

A Massachusetts man was killed early Sunday morning in a motorcycle crash in Boston, according to state police.

Authorities said troopers responded to the crash on Interstate 93, just south of exit 13, between the Neponset Street on-ramp and the Freeport Street off-ramp at about 2 a.m.

When troopers arrived, authorities discovered that 49-year-old Jose Lopes, of Brockton, was traveling northbound, when he somehow lost control and crashed the Suzuki GSXR he was driving.

Lopes was pronounced dead at the scene.

The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation by troopers from the South Boston Barracks.
