Teenage Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Crash

A 19-year-old motorcyclist sustained serious head trauma after running into a pickup truck in Keene, New Hampshire on Monday.

According to Keene Police, Timothy Cates Jr., of Manchester, ran into the rear end of a pickup truck driven by Tucker Lash-Wheeler, 24, of Keene on Court Street near the Dunkin Donuts.

Lash-Wheeler was traveling south on Court Street and had stopped to make a left hand turn into the Stone Arch Village apartments.  Cates, also traveling south, failed to stop in time and ultimately put down the motorcycle which traveled a short distance before hitting the rear of the truck.

Cates wasn't wearing a helment, and as a result he sustained serious head trauma.  He was airlifted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.

Anyone who was witness to the accident or has further information is encouraged to contact Lieutenant Jason Short of the Keene Police Department at (603) 357-9813.
