Investigation Underway After Man Killed in Parking Lot Shooting

One person is dead and another was injured following a shooting Saturday night in Brockton, police confirmed.

State and Brockton Police say they received a call about multiple shots fired in the area of 139 Pleasant St. at about 10:15 p.m.

When authorities arrived they found two men parked in a lot that had suffered gunshot wounds inside the vehicle.

One of the victims was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim has been identified as Bethgy Cator, 26, of Avon.

The second victim was taken to Good Samaritan before he was taken to Boston Medical Center. He is not being identified and his current condition is unknown.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.

The Plymouth County District Attorney's Office along with Brockton police are investigating the deadly shooting.

One resident said the shooting -- which took place hours before Mother's Day -- was "crazy."

"It's sad," Joao Monteiro, who frequents a laundry mat on Pleasant Street, said about the shooting. "We should all be united, but it's sad when you hear somebody got shot."
