Authorities in New Hampshire are investigating after two people were killed in a fiery car crash on Monday night.

The single-vehicle crash happened at about 10:30 p.m. in Kingston, according to the New Hampshire Department of Public Safety. Witnesses called authorities to report that a car hit a tree and then became fully engulfed in flames near 75 New Boston Road.

Upon arrival, firefighters saw the flames were spreading to the detached garage of a home nearby. Crews were able to extinguish the fire, but were unable to reach the vehicle’s two occupants.

Both occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.
