N.H. Man Dies After Struck by Car

Police: Victim walking at night on narrow stretch of road

A New Hampshire man was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a car in Alton Friday night.

Authorities say 25-year-old Tyler Houghton of Alton, New Hampshire, was walking along Suncook Valley Road just after 9:30 p.m. when he was hit by a car driven by 20-year-old Nathan Hall of Barnstead. Hall suffered minor injuries.

Alton Police Chief Ryan Heath tells The Citizen of Laconia that factors contributing to the accident may have been inclement weather and limited visibility.

He said the stretch of road where the accident occurred is narrow, dark and has limited shoulder space for walking.

The investigation is continuing.
