NH Man Pleads Guilty to Charges of Arson, Murder in Death of Woman at Mobile Home

Prosecutors say Derek Webber, 31, of Exeter, did not know the victim, 64-year-old Carol Felides

A man has pleaded guilty to charges of arson and murder in connection with a fire in New Hampshire last year in which the body of a 64-year-old woman was found.

Derek Webber, 31, of Exeter, pleaded guilty Thursday in Rockingham County Superior Court to second-degree murder and arson, according to the Union Leader.

Fire officials found Carol Felides dead inside her mobile home in Exeter after responding to a fire June 19, 2018.

Prosecutors say Felides suffered multiple injuries to her head and died before the fire was set.

Webber was arrested about a week after Felides' death. A glove and other clothing allegedly linked him to the crime.

Prosecutors say he and Felides did not know each other.

He is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 16.
