A New Hampshire man is the winner of the 2014 New England Pumpkin Contest at the Bay State's Topsfield Fair.
Hiram Watson of Farmington, New Hampshire, competed with a pumpkin that weighed in at 1,900 pounds.
Watson beat Gary Vincent of Plainville, Connecticut, with a pumpkin weighing 1,751 pounds and Mark Breznick of Pittsford, Vermont, with a pumpkin weighing 1,710 pounds.
The 196th annual Topsfield Fair will run through Oct. 13, opening daily at 10 a.m. The Giant Pumpkin will be on display in the Vegetable Barn.
