A New York City man has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for his role in a fake credit card scheme.
Joshua Cutchin, of Brooklyn, was also sentenced Monday in federal court in Rhode Island to three years pf probation and ordered to pay almost $4,000 in restitution.
The 27-year-old Cutchin was a passenger in a car that was stopped for speeding on Interstate 95 in Rhode Island on Dec. 30.
Police searching the car found 139 counterfeit credits cards and a sheet of counterfeit MasterCard hologram stickers.
Investigators also determined that the fraudulent cards had been used to make purchases.
The other man in the car is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 9.
