New Details to Be Released in 1992 Rape, Murder of Lisa Ziegert in Agawam, Massachusetts

It's been 24 years since Lisa Ziegert, a Massachusetts middle school teacher, was kidnapped, raped and murdered. Wednesday, authorities will annnounce a "significant update."

Ziegert was working her night job at a card shop in Agawam when she was abducted on April 15, 1992. The clerk who worked the following morning found her car parked where it was the night before; the store's lights were on and the doors were open.

Money was left in the cash register and Ziegert's purse remained in the store.

Four days later, police told her family she had been found dead. No suspect was identified.

District Attorney Anthony Gulluni will provide an update at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Hampden County Hall of Justice in Springfield.
