New England Beaches Closed as Hot Weather Arrives

A few beaches in New England have been closed as the hottest weather of the summer arrives.

Rynne Beach along the Merrimack River in Lowell, Massachusetts, has been closed until further notice due to high bacteria counts.

Beachgoers will be able to visit misting stations at Rynne Beach instead of jumping in the water to cool off; the stations will be available from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. until Friday.

In Burlington, Vermont, Leddy Beach was closed after E. coli was found in a water test. It will continue to be tested and will reopen as soon as a clean reading comes back from the lab.
