    New England Breweries Win Awards at the 2016 World Beer Cup

    Numerous New England breweries took home awards at the 2016 World Beer Cup.

    The event was held on May 6. 

    Four breweries in Massachusetts, one in New Hampshire, one in Vermont, two in Connecticut and two in Maine were awarded medals.

    The Medusa Brewing Company in Hudson, Mass. won the top spot for the Best- Bohemian-Style Pilsener Beer for their Duchovni beer.

    The Boston Beer Company in Boston won the bronze medal for Best Wood-and-Barrel-Aged Strong Beer for their Samuel Adams Utiopias.

    The Plum Island White Beer from the Newburyport Brewing Company in Newburyport, Mass., took home a bronze medal for the Best-Belgian-Style Witbier beer.

    Another bronze medal went to Night Shift in Everett, Mass., for the Best American-Style India Pale Ale for their Santilli beer while the Great North Aleworks in Manchester, New Hampshire, was awarded the silver medal for their IPA.

    Warren, Vermont, shop Lawson's Finest Liquids took home the silver medal for Best Specialty Beer for their Maple Tripple Ale.

    Two breweries in Connecticut took home gold medals- the Stony Creek Brewery in Branford, Connecticut, won Best Vienna-Style Lager for their Dock Time beer and the Black Hog Brewing Company in Oxford, Connecticut, won Best American-style Brown Ale for their Granola Brown Ale.

    The top prize for the Best Brett Beer went to Portland, Maine's, Liquid Riot Bottling Company for their Blushing Star beer.

    The Tributary Brewing Company in Kittery, Maine, took home the silver medal for the Best Pumpkin beer for their Tributary Jacques.
