A mother-daughter duo in New Hampshire is bringing the art of glass blowing to the public – and the good news is you don’t need to be an artist to create magnificent works of art.
Inside the Hot Shop at Terrapin Studio in Jaffrey, New Hampshire, things get really, really hot.
"This runs at 2,300 or 2,400 degrees," explained co-owner Dominique Caissie pointing to the furnace.
For Caisse and her mom, it’s a 24-hour operation.
"I fill the furnace every night really slowly, all night long, so we can work the next day," she said.
Caissie says the long hours are worth it when you’re living your dream.
"Yeah, life’s really good when you wake up and you are totally excited to go to work every day," Caissie told necn.

She and her mom opened the studio seven years ago to bring the art of glass blowing to the public.
On the opposite side of the studio is the flame shop where artists focus on the smaller pieces like glass straws, pipes, and pendants.
Jocelyn Brown who works at Terrapin considers glass blowing a type of meditation.
"It’s one of the reasons I love it," Brown said. "You’re not thinking about your grocery list or whatever you have to do, you have to focus on what’s going on in front of you."
It’s an escape of sorts that makes a trip to Terrapin Studio totally worth the trip.
"When you come into the studio, you forget about the outside world," said Dominique’s mom Anne Marie.
"We hope that people leave with a better understanding the art of glass blowing and more of a respect for it," Dominique said.
