New Haven Man Missing in Vermont for 24 Hours Found Safe in Woods

A search and rescue team has found a New Haven man who was missing in Vermont for 24 hours and Vermont State Police said he is OK.

Trey Young, 45, of New Haven, was reported missing after he went off into the woods Sunday in Shrewsbury, Vermont and did not return home by 6 p.m. as expected.

The search and rescue team found him off Eastham Road, in the Town of Shrewsbury shortly before 6 p.m. Monday.

EMTs determined he is healthy and Young has been reunited with his family.

Vermont State Police, the Killington Search and Rescue Team, the Rutland Fire Department and several other agencies, along with volunteers, all assisted in the search.
