    2 Newton Firefighters Hurt in Crash Involving Alleged Drunk Driver

    A man is facing drunk driving charges in connection with a crash that injured two firefighters in Newton, Massachusetts early Thursday morning.

    The crash happened at the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and Prince Street.

    The driver, who has not yet been identified, was taken into custody at the scene. He is expected to be charged with operating under the influence.

    Authorities said the deputy fire chief and his aide who were struck by the driver were taken to Newton-Wellesley Hospital for treatment and later released.
