No Clear Cause on What Sickened Swimmers at Mystic Campground

The pool is still closed and there is still no telling exactly what sickened swimmers Tuesday at an RV park in Stonington.

The pool at Seaport RV Resort and Campground is to get a "total review" Thursday from the company that handles chemicals for the pool, according to Old Mystic Fire Chief Ken Richards Jr.

Medics rushed six children to Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London. Their symptoms ranged from scratchy throats and difficulty breathing to vomiting.

"If you're having shortness of breath you should definitely take action. You should come and get evaluated by a medical professional.,” said Dr. Oliver Mayorga , the chairman of the emergency department at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital. “Or if you feel that your eyes are burning and it's not going away, the first thing you need to know is to get out of that environment, that's the most important thing."

By the time authorities were able to test the air and water whatever had made the kids sick had dissipated. They weren't able to replicate the incident.
