More than 10 universities make the top 100

Numerous New England colleges made U.S. News and World Report's list of the Best Colleges.

Harvard University took the #2 spot, followed by Yale University coming in at #3, and MIT ranking at #7.

Princeton University beat out Harvard for the top spot.

Other universities such as Dartmouth College (#11), Brown University (#14), Tufts University (#27), Boston College (#31), Brandeis University (#34), and Boston University (#39) ranked within the Top 50 schools.

The rankings are based on numerous factors including the range of undergraduate majors, as well as master's and doctoral programs, and research programs.

The report also provide readers with each college and university's cost of tuition, number of undergraduate students enrolled, Fall 2015 acceptance rate, and application deadline.

Other New England schools such as Worcester Polytechnic Institute (#60), University of Connecticut (#60), Clark University (#74), UMass-Amherst (#74), and the University of Vermont (#92) ranked within the Top 100.
