Off-Duty Cop in Deadly NH Crash Indicted for Manslaughter

An off-duty police officer accused of killing a woman in a drunken vehicular crash in New Hampshire this April has been indicted by a grand jury, local prosecutors said Friday.

Tyler Berry's indictment includes charges of manslaughter, negligent homicide, reckless conduct, falsifying physical evidence and criminal mischief, according to a release from Hillsborough County Attorney Micheal Conlon's office.

Berry, 27, an officer with the Londonderry Police Department, was arrested April 5 after his pickup truck crossed the center line on Route 101 in Amherst and struck a Hyundai carrying 21-year-old Sierra Croteau, who was killed, state police said at the time. Berry was arrested on drunken driving charges at the time.

Berry pleaded not guilty on those charges later in April.
