Officials: About 250,000 Customers Remain Without Power

Nearly 253,000 households were without power in New England as of 9:30 a.m. Sunday as powerful wind gusts from a March nor'easter knocked down trees and utility lines over the weekend.

In Massachusetts alone, more than 197,000 customers did not have power as of Sunday morning. National Grid reports more than 199,000 of its customers in the Bay State are without power. More than 78,000 Eversource customers are in the dark.

National Grid also serves Rhode Island, where 41,266 customers were without power Sunday morning. In neighboring Connecticut, 13,341 still have no electricity.

An estimated 995 Central Maine Power Company customers are without power in Maine. All power was restored in New Hampshire.

Only one resident is still without electricity in Vermont.
