Officials: Inmate Committed Suicide

48-year-old Robert Doody died after hanging himself in Aroostook County Jail, according to the Maine Medical Examiner's Office

A Maine man who was in jail for importing drugs and violating probation committed suicide, according to the medical examiner's office.

State police confirmed that 48-year-old Robert Doody had been found hanging from a shower fixture using a bed sheet Thursday.

Doody died Sunday.

Police investigated the circumstances of the incident and the medical examiner's office determined that the death was a suicide.
