Officials Investigating Suspected Arson

Officials estimated damages at the home to be $65K

Officials said they believe an early morning fire on Metro Way in Barre, Vermont, was set intentionally Thursday.

Crews with the Barre City Fire Department found the building fully involved in the fire. Officials said fire departments from Barre Town, Berlin, Montpelier, East Montpelier and Williamstown assisted during the blaze.

The building on fire was used for storage by Resources Vermont, officials said. No one was in the building during the fire, and there were no injuries in connection with the blaze.

The building was a total loss. Officials estimated damages to be $65,000.

State police and Barre City police are investigating the incident.
