Officials: Man Drowned Following Boat Collision

Authorities say Rodney Dion was driving one of two power boats involved in the crash in Malletts Bay

Records from the Vermont Medical Examiner's Office show that a Milton man drowned following a two-boat collision last week in Colchester.

Police Chief Jennifer Morrison tells The Burlington Free Press Thursday that officers are still working to determine what caused the June 15 crash that led to the death of 60-year-old Rodney Dion, whose body was found the following day.

Authorities say Dion was driving one of two power boats involved in the crash in Malletts Bay.

One of the boats sank; the other sustained heavy damage. Officials say a total of six people were aboard the boats at the time. Local responders rescued five and brought them to shore. Dion's passenger was hospitalized and released.

Officials say Dion's manner of death is listed as an accident.
