Police Identify Driver in Fatal East Boston Crash

A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the East Boston crash that left one person dead and another injured.

Dylan Etheridge is due in court Monday and faces several charges, includingmotor vehicle homicide. One female passenger died and another passenger was injured.

The accident involved two cars and happened at 1:15 a.m. on Bennington Street in the East Boston neighborhood.

Boston EMS and police confirmed one fatality. Boston police reported another occupant injured with non-life threatening injuries.

Sandra Herrera, a resident of the neighborhood, said that she came outside to see a car had hit her Honda parked on the side of the rode, and flipped upside down. Several cars on the street were hit, including a red Toyota that was seen without its side mirror Sunday evening.

Ray Celona has lived in the area for a while, and though he said the area is not as safe as it used to be, he was surprised to see all the police activity in the area when he woke up.

"It's still a wonderful neighborhood," he said.

It's unclear what caused the crash in the first place.
