Fire officials are investigating what started a fire overnight at a motel in Old Orchard Beach, Maine.

The flames were first reported around 1:30 Wednesday morning at the America's Best Value Inn on West Grand Avenue.

The first two engines to arrive on the scene reported heavy smoke and fire showing from the left side of the building near the pool area. Crews called for mutual aid neighbors. Scarborough, Saco and Buxton fire departments came into help.

Because of the help and fast reaction the fire was knocked down within 30 minutes of the initial call.

Two of the units were damaged but fire chief Ricky Plummer says the fire didn't appear to be suspicious.
