An owl is expected to make a full recovery after it was hit by a car in Massachusetts, according to Franklin police.
Officers responded to a call from a driver who said they hit an owl while traveling on Interstate 495. Photos of the scene show the owl in quite a predicament, as it appears to be stuck near the front of the car.
With some assistance from Animal Control officers, the owl was freed and taken to Tufts University North Grafton Campus School of Veterinary Medicine for treatment. It is expected to make a full recovery, police said.
Following the unusual incident, authorities are warning drivers to "always lock their car doors, never leave money or valuables out in the open, and most importantly, check your cars for woodland creatures before driving!"
