PD: Crash Sends 84-Year-Old Driver Into River

The crash happened Wednesday afternoon in South Royalton

Authorities say an 84-year-old woman in Vermont was uninjured after her car went 15 feet down an embankment and into the White River.

The crash happened Wednesday afternoon in South Royalton. State police say the woman was driving on state Route 14 and crashed into a rail.

Police say the crash sent her car over the edge and down an embankment before ending up in the water.

The woman, identified by police as Betty Wright, was evaluated at the scene by emergency responders. She was not harmed.
