Police say a Vermont man was drunk with two children in his car while he traveled at speeds of 99 miles per hour in a 65 mile-per-hour zone on Interstate 91.
Thirty-five-year-old Travis Sartwell is scheduled to be arraigned on Dec. 14 in Vermont Superior Court on charges of drunken driving, reckless endangerment and cruelty to children. A listed phone number for him was not found.
Police say the Montgomery resident was pulled over Saturday on I-91 in Lyndon for excessive speed.
Trooper Stephen McGranaghan says Sartwell was driving while drinking a beer with two children, ages 3 and 5, in the back seat.
McGranaghan says he administered a breath test to Sartwell that indicated his blood alcohol content was .117 percent.
