Police say Christopher Range fled because he does not have a valid license and has an outstanding warrant for his arrest for probation violation

Police in Quincy, Massachusetts are looking for a man they say nearly struck officers with his vehicle while fleeing from an alleged drug deal.

Officers responded to the Quincy Center MBTA Station parking lot Tuesday and observed a vehicle with a male driver and two female passengers allegedly involved in a drug deal.

As they approached, the male driver, later identified as Christopher Range, 29, sped out of the parking lot, nearly striking the two officers. He also ran a red light as he fled.

Officers later found the vehicle on Avon Way and located the two female passengers, of one whom has been identified as Vanessa Townsend.

Police say Range, who is homeless, fled because he does not have a valid license and has an outstanding warrant for his arrest for probation violation.

Range is wanted for two counts of Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon to wit: motor vehicle, Failure to Stop for the Police, Red Light Violation, Unlicensed Operator of a Motor Vehicle and Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

Townsend, 42, of Hull, was arrested for outstanding warrants.
