The Pan-Mass Challenge charity bicycle ride raised a record-breaking $63 million this year for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.
The gift announced Saturday is the largest single donation in the history of Dana-Farber.
The Pan-Mass Challenge has now raised $717 million for cancer research, treatment and patient care in its 40-year history.
More than 6,800 cyclists took part in the 40th PMC on Aug. 3 and 4.
Dana-Farber president and chief executive Dr. Laurie Glimcher says donations from the PMC have gone toward developing 41 cancer drugs and discovering new cancer detection techniques.
The PMC offers 12 routes of varying distance, ranging from 25 to 192 miles. It goes through 47 towns.
