Police say a New Hampshire man is charged with negligent homicide and driving while intoxicated after a one-car crash in which one of his two passengers died.
Bedford police say they were called to the crash scene at 6:21 p.m. Saturday. They found a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle on its roof and one of the occupants dead inside.
Police arrested 50-year-old Nicholas Palangas of Weare. They say alcohol and speed were factors in his failure to negotiate a curve on Kilton Road.
Palangas is being held on $50,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in Merrimack District Court on Tuesday. It was not immediately known if he has a lawyer.
Police are not releasing the victim's identity pending notification of family.
