The New England Patriots listed quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo as doubtful for their Thursday night game versus the Houston Texans in Foxborough.
Garoppolo injured his right shoulder when he was tackled in the second quarter against the Miami Dolphins on September 18.
With the news that Garoppolo is doubtful, Patriots rookie Jacoby Brissett, who finished the game against the Dolphins, looks to be the starter on Sunday. NFL.com reports that wide receiver Julian Edelman practiced at quarterback this week and could backup Brissett. Edelman played quarterback in college at Kent State.
Tight end Rob Gronkowski and linebacker Dont'a Hightower are among the Patriots listed as questionable for the Thursday night game.
