The victim, a woman in her mid 20s, was taken by medflight to Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The accident happened on West Center Street (Route 106) on the Route 24 overpass around 9 p.m.

The driver stayed on scene following the crash and is cooperating with police.

The stretch of Route 106 near the Route 24 overpass is two lanes in both directions, and there is no cross walk or traffic signal nearby.

Part of the road was closed to traffic following the accident.

The incident is under investigation.
