A man was killed after he was struck by an MBTA commuter rail train in Bellerica, Massachusetts on Wednesday, according to police.
At 7:25 a.m., Transit Police received a call of a person possibly hit by a train. At the scene, officials learned the man trespassed on the New Hampshire/Maine Line near the Pond Street Bridge before he was fatally struck.
The victim was hit by an outbound train that was on its way to Lowell. Police say he died at the scene.
Officials said 17 passengers were on board at the time of the crash. They did not release the victim's identity pending notification of next of kin.
