A man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was struck by a car while walking in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, on Thursday, according to police.
The 54-year-old man from Lowell was struck by a vehicle on Billerica Road near Omni Way and Chelmsford Police, Fire, Trinity Ambulance and greater Lowell paramedics responded to the scene at 2:40 p.m.
The man was flown by medical helicopter to a Boston area hospital. His current condition is unknown.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene following the crash.
The Chelmsford Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances of the crash.
