Person of Interest Sought in Non-Fatal Shooting in Mattapan: Boston Police

The Boston Police Department is pleading for the public’s help in identifying a man who is a person of interest related to a shooting in the city's Mattapan neighborhood.

The shooting happened at 11:34 a.m. on Tuesday near 998 Blue Hill Ave., Boston police said. During the shooting, the person of interest was seen as he requested a key to the bathroom. Shortly after, witnesses said they heard a "bang" in the bathroom and saw someone with non-life threatening injuries on the bathroom floor.

The person of interest was seen exiting the store slowly and running down Blue Hill Avenue toward Callender Street, according to witnesses.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital in unknown condition.

Police described the person of interest as a male who is believed to be 5 feet 7 inches tall. He was seen wearing a white T-shirt and jeans.
