Phillips Exeter Facing Criticism, Investigation in Sex Assault Cases

An elite boarding school in New Hampshire is reportedly once again facing criticism about and an investigation into how it handles sexual assault allegations in the wake of a new case.

The Boston Globe reports a 17-year-old student at Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter repeatedly told a student-athlete, Chukwudi "Chudi" Ikpeazu, to stop groping her, and when she went to the school's minister, the school minister asked him to deliver baked bread for the rest of the year as an "act of penance."

Eventually the student went to police, and Ikpeazu was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of sexual assault.

Police are also investigating the school for how it handled the alleged victim's case and other allegations, according to the Globe.
