Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Field

Police confirm pilot and passenger were not injured when fixed-wing aircraft went down in Ferrisburgh, Vt.

A plane was forced to make an emergency landing in a field in Ferrisburgh, Vermont, police confirmed.

State police responded to a call for possible crash around 1:15 p.m. Saturday. Seventy-three-year-old Roger Teese, who was flying a 1958 Tri-Pacer fixed-wing prop plane with his wife as his passenger, told police that he was heading to Basin Harbor Airport when a piece of the fabric roof over the windshield loosened and tore off.

Teese said the plane began to porpoise and he landed safely in a nearby field when he was unable to reach the airport.

Neither Teese nor his wife were injured.
