Police: 3 Robbed Man Who Tried to Meet Transgender Woman for Massage

Two women and a man assaulted and robbed the victim, who made arrangements on Backpage.com to meet a transgender woman for a massage at a hotel in South Portland, Maine, according to police.

Three people have been arrested after police say they assaulted and robbed a man after he arranged to meet a transgender woman for a massage at a hotel in South Portland, Maine.

The victim told police that he made the appointment with the transgender woman on Backpage.com, but that he found two women and a man instead when he arrived at the room.

South Portland Police say the suspects forced him to stay in the room while they physically assaulted him and stole his money and belongings.

Twenty-eight-year-old Lauryn Ebanks of Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood, 28-year-old Brandon Jamieson of Los Angeles and 24-year-old Tiffany Ruiz of New York were arrested for robbery and criminal restraint.

Ebanks is also charged with failing to giver her correct name and address.

Police also recovered a small amount of marijuana.

The incident marks the second time this week that a man was attacked after being lured to a New England hotel via Backpage.com. Sunday, two people were arrested after police say they stripped a man of his clothes and beat him badly when he tried to escape from a Red Roof Inn in Salem, New Hampshire.
