Police: 3-Year-Old Rushed to Hospital for Trauma Dies

Authorities say a 3-year-old Boston boy who was rushed to a hospital for trauma on Sunday night has died.

Boston police say the child, who has not been identified, was found unresponsive inside a home on Alpine Street in the city's Roxbury neighborhood around 9:40 p.m.

The child was taken to Boston Medical Center, were he died on Tuesday.

The Department of Children and Families was familiar with the boy and his 5-month-old sibling.  DCF has an open case on the children and a social worker had reportedly visited the boy just two days before he was found in the home Sunday. 

No other details were immediately available.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information to contact detectives at 617-343-4470.
