Shots Fired Near Northeastern University Campus

Boston police are investigating a shooting near the Northeastern University campus on Wednesday afternoon.

University police issued an alert around 5 p.m. telling people to avoid the Columbus Avenue/Camden Street area due to possible police activity on campus. 

Boston police confirmed that shots were fired and a vehicle was struck in the area of Tremont and Lenox streets. The suspect was last seen in the area of Columbus Avenue.

Northeastern police issued a second alert around 5:40 p.m. saying that the emergency had concluded and all was clear.

No further information was immediately available.
