An arrest has been made after two Boston Police officers were hit and dragged by a car Sunday night, according to the Suffolk County DA's Office.

Police say a car was stopped in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Stratton Street in Mattapan. When the officers tried to talk to the driver, identified as Bryant Gilbert, 45, of Dorchester, he drove off.

According to police, Gilbert crashed after dragging the officers for "a significant distance."

The officers sustained minor injuries and were taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital. They have since been treated and released.

Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said, "They both were shooken up, but they were seen, they were evaluated and thank God, they're okay."

Police found marijuana and money in the car.

In court, he blew a kiss to a woman identified only as his girlfriend.  She defended him outside court.
